Welcome to Chemainus, a village nestled between the mountains and ocean along the Cowichan coast. Once founded in 1858 as a logging town, the city is now famous for its outdoor murals and other Chemainus attractions. The Chemainus Mural Project started in 1981 as a community-driven art tourism experience.
