Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art presents: Spirit of the Ancestors
This retrospective celebrates the extraordinary jewelry of Terrence Campbell (Tahltan Nation), tracing his evolution from early designs to his latest creations. Known for blending traditional Northwest Coast and Southwestern motifs, Terrence’s silverwork offers a unique and striking perspective.
Born in Prince Rupert in 1956 and named Eth-Cath-Kee (“Teacher of the Children”), Terrence trained under renowned carvers Dempsey Bob and Dale Campbell. His career spans monumental totem pole commissions and, since 2000, a dedicated focus on jewelry, sparked by his time in Arizona and studies with Navajo jeweler Rick Charlie.
Today, Terrence splits his time between BC and Arizona, creating powerful, culturally rooted works that bridge nations and traditions.
