CVAC is working with a group of community members to create & share the WE ALL BELONG exhibition. With more than 110 million people currently displaced, this exhibition considers one of the most pressing issues of our time – the unprecedented displacement of people worldwide due to war, violence, persecution, and climate change.
Show organizers believe art has the power to transform understanding, foster empathy, and inspire action. We welcome artists’ reflection, interpretation & commentary on all aspects of displacement. All mediums welcome. Written word limited to approx. 100 words.
Themes may include:
• Impact of displacement – personally, globally & locally
• Universal longing for safety
• The migration experience
• Loss, trauma, survival
• Hope for a better future, rebuilding
Through this exhibition, we aim to bring attention to the humanity behind the statistics—the individuals and families who are seeking refuge from unimaginable dangers. Art is a bridge where we can address complexity to see our sameness. We All Belong.
